Speaker: Carsten Selch Jensen, senior lecturer in Theology at KU.
This evening we examine and debate the Church's attitude to war. In periods of church history soldiers had to undergo certain cleansing rituals when they came home from the war, while at other times, for example during the crusades, it has been a sacred duty to go to war. What is the reason for such different views?
What is the church's view on war today? Can / should a Christian participate in a war? Is there a difference between attacking and defending, and how you distinguish between these two?
As always, there will be time to debate and talk about these complicated questions.
